Reflections on Education
Essays | Teaching experience
By connecting my postgraduate studies in education to my daily practice as a design educator in BACA’s Foundation course in Art, Design and Media practice (FADM), I had the opportunity to write different essays; a critique of the Foundation course based on my own aims and value; methods of implementing collaborative learning in context; and a small-scale qualitative research on students' understanding of the role of research for their idea generation.
I also wrote shorter texts examining how the design process could be reconsidered; a critique of our learning environment in the reproduction of the elite, and my own teaching philosophy.
Before teaching in higher education, I worked with younger students with whom I developed a structured approach to experimentation. Here are presented Art and Design projects grounded in a methodology organised around ten categories.
